"Our Evolution"
Bert Bird started the Delta Group in 1977, and is now a Director at Delta International and Chairman of the Delta Group.
Arguably the most knowledgeable man in the industry Bert has continuously dedicated his time and effort to making sure all workers are trained and qualified to the highest standards. To mark his commitment, Bert has been made an Honorary Life Chairman of the National Federation of Master Steeplejacks & Lightning Conductor Engineers as well as the Honorary Life President of ATLAS - the Association of Lightning Protection and Access Specialists. Now Bert writes his own column "Memoirs of a Steeplejack" to mark the changes he has seen during his career.
Today, the company has done business all over the world including places such as Jordan, South Africa and most of Europe. Now headquartered in Oldham, Delta’s biggest projects involve everything from power stations and contracting for aircrafts (lights, masts, beacons) to dealing with major industry players/refineries such as Shell, BP, Total, Conoco Oil, and BT.
